Who am I and why should you listen to me?

My name is Alan Wilson. I am a father of three and, luckily, had the chance to put right the mistakes I made. I’m not a perfect Dad by any means. I still have challenges with my children, like any parent. But I’m doing the best I can and I’m sure you are, too - it’s just kids are different these days and need a different approach.

For 15 years I have been a successful coach and trainer and an accomplished writer and speaker on family issues, which are close to my heart. I’m passionate about my work enabling children and young people to reach their unique potential and encouraging parents to listen and communicate emotionally and energetically.

I’m a trained life coach and also experienced in principle-based psychology, parent coaching, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and complementary therapies.

My training company uses life coaching techniques and energetics to empower young people and families, and those working with them. Youth workers, teachers, foster carers, life coaches and family support professionals are all using courses I have developed, and that’s great. (The term ‘Energetics’ refers to those very special qualities of innate knowing, sensing, intuition and that inner guidance we all have.)

I don’t believe in ‘labels’ such as Autism, Aspergers, ADD, ADHD – I want to help people see children as the wonderful, magnificent beings they really are.  Sometimes, before that can happen, we adults have to change the way we do things.  It’s the same whether you’re a parent, teacher, therapist, coach or simply a child’s friend.
